I found this gorgeous orchid in my garden today! I was totally amazed - must have missed the whole flower spike thing - but I didn't miss it in full bloom. The photo does not do it justice.
I have dedicated this lovely orchid to my poodle Madi who is no longer with me. She was truly my best pet friend ever and I will really miss her.
Ooooooh Lidi, what a beauty, this orchid! I have never seen such an orchid before, you couldn't miss it in full bloom, it is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will miss your best pet friend Madi, but she gave you a sunbeam with this blooming orchid, isn't it?
Warm hugs, Ilona
Beautiful orchid! Lucky you to have it in your garden!

Oh Lidi, my heart goes out to you, Madi was such a special girl. Give my friend Monty a hug for me and I leave you with a dozen hugs for yourself. Your orchid will bring Madi back every year when it blooms....
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tribute to your old pal Madi. It is heartbreaking when they leave us - but this gorgeous orchid will cheer you up and hopefully remind you of the happy times. The colours are so subtle yet stricking. Carol :)

Hi Lidi,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your little Madi, they are such an important part of the family and we do miss them. The Orchid is a stunning find and a wonderful tribute to Madi.
Hugs, Fi xx
this orchid looks like something out of space!
ReplyDeletegorgeous, thanks for sharing!
I am sooo sorry about the loss of your pet Madi! All in one year I lost 3 beloved cats and so I know how you must be feeling right now. The orchid is very unusual and the flowers are almost spider-like in appearance!? Very unique! What a beautiful tribute to a special pet friend; a pleasant and welcome surprise when you are feeling so low.

Wow! What a Stunning little orchid!!! I can't imagine finding one of those in the wild... we have snow, snow and Snow!!! I hope Ilona will try to make one in mini... it has such a graceful and fairy-like shape! So Beautiful! Thank you for sharing this picture!
ReplyDeleteAnd A Heartfelt condolences for the loss of your Madi. There is no replacing the pets we lose. But like friendships... perhaps there is always room in our hearts for another one. I hope you find solace.
ReplyDeleteSon unas orquídeas tan maravillosas, gracias por compartirlas.
ReplyDeleteLamento la pérdida de Madi

That grew in your back garden!!! :D We don't have anything like that over here. I am still looking at it trying to work out where it starts and ends, what an amazing plant. It has a spider quality about it.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Madi.
