has afforded me so much pleasure this past week! Peter made it for me for Christmas
and I've had so much fun with it.
These couple of photos show the results of my first attempts at throwing a piece on the wheel. I
used Creative Paper Clay for these which of course, is an air drying clay - and I painted them
with acrylic paint, aged with some pastels and then sealed with a clear varnish.
I was happy with the end results. I think I'm really going to enjoy working with the pottery wheel!!
Clever Peter. What a great Christmas gift. It looks like you had a lot of fun and the pots are perfect. So... Is a kiln in your future?
ReplyDeleteYou are certainly off to a great start with your new potting wheel Lidi, so my congratulations on yet another notch on your very creative belt.
ReplyDeleteAnd a Happy New Year too!

They look great Lidi. I would never have thought to use Paperclay as a substitute for real clay like that, but there you go! And go Peter for making a pottery wheel - again, would never have thought of it! Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I particularly like the greenish one. :D How wonderful to have a creative and handy "Peter" to make you a pottery wheel. If your mini pottery turns out half as good as your baskets it's going to be spectacular.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great first attempt. I wish will have a lot of fun creating miniatures with your pottery wheel.
